Last updated: February 22, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Menumigo. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our digital menu platform and related services.
Please read this privacy policy carefully. By using Menumigo, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information (name, email address, password)
- Restaurant details (name, address, contact information)
- Menu content (item names, descriptions, prices, images)
- Payment information (processed securely via Polar)
- Communications you send to us
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information (browser type, operating system)
- Usage data (pages visited, features used, time spent)
- QR code scan analytics (time, device type)
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies
2.3 Data Stored on Your Device
We use your browser's local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) to store the following information directly on your device:
- Loyalty program token: An anonymous, randomly generated identifier used to track your loyalty stamp progress at a specific restaurant. This token is not linked to any personal information.
- Language preference: Your selected menu language so you don't have to choose it each time.
- Allergen filter settings: Your saved allergen filters for menu browsing.
- Cookie consent status: Whether you have accepted our cookie notice.
- Session identifiers: Temporary anonymous identifiers used to prevent duplicate analytics counts within a single browsing session.
This data is stored entirely on your device and is never linked to your identity. Clearing your browser data, switching browsers, or using incognito/private mode will permanently delete this data with no possibility of recovery.
2.4 Public Menu Analytics
When you view a restaurant's public menu (e.g., by scanning a QR code), we collect anonymous, aggregate analytics to help restaurant owners understand how their menu is performing. This includes:
- Device type, operating system, and browser (parsed from your User-Agent header)
- Which menu items were viewed (via scroll tracking)
- Interactions such as copying the Wi-Fi password or clicking social media links
- Time of the scan or visit
This data is anonymous and is not linked to any personal account. We do not use third-party tracking services (such as Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel) on public menu pages.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Process transactions and send related information
- Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
- Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
- Generate analytics and insights about menu performance
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and abuse
- Personalize and improve your experience
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With third parties who perform services on our behalf (hosting, payment processing, analytics)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to respond to legal process
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
- With Your Consent: When you have given us permission to share
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit and at rest, regular security assessments, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise these rights, please contact us at contact@menumigo.com.
8. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and browser storage technologies (localStorage and sessionStorage) to provide and improve our services. These technologies allow us to remember your preferences, track anonymous analytics, and manage your loyalty stamp progress.
On public menu pages, a cookie consent banner is displayed. By clicking "Accept," you consent to our use of these technologies as described in this policy. You may clear your browser data at any time to remove stored information, though this will reset your loyalty stamp progress and preferences.
We do not use any third-party advertising or tracking cookies on public restaurant menu pages. On our main website (menumigo.com) and dashboard, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our platform, and Crisp (live chat) for customer support — both of which may set cookies. These services are not loaded on public restaurant menu pages.
9. Loyalty Program Data
Our loyalty stamp card feature uses an anonymous token stored in your browser's localStorage to identify your stamp progress. This means:
- Your loyalty stamps are tied to your specific browser on your specific device.
- No personal account or login is required to participate in the loyalty program.
- Switching to a different browser, device, or using incognito/private mode will create a new, separate loyalty card.
- Clearing your browser data will permanently and irreversibly delete your loyalty stamp progress.
- Menumigo cannot recover, transfer, or restore lost loyalty stamp data, as there is no account-based backup system.
By using the loyalty program, you acknowledge and accept these limitations.
10. Third-Party Services
Our service may contain links to other websites or services that are not operated by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
11. Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
