# About Menumigo

Menumigo is a digital menu platform for restaurants, cafés, bars and food trucks. A venue uploads a photo or PDF of its existing menu, AI extracts the dishes, prices and categories, and within about ten minutes there is a QR code on the table that opens a fast, multilingual, allergen-tagged menu in the guest's browser. No app, no hardware, no per-table licence.

**Why it exists.** The QR menu became normal in 2020 and mostly stayed bad: a PDF behind a QR code that pinch-zooms on a phone, cannot be updated without a designer, exists in one language, and carries no allergen information. The platforms that did solve those problems charged per table, per location or per scan — pricing built for hotel groups, not for the independent venues that make up most of the European dining scene. Those same venues carry the heaviest compliance load and serve the most linguistically mixed rooms.

**What we believe.**

- The free plan is not a trial. One restaurant, unlimited menu items, unlimited QR codes, multi-language menus, 5 AI imports and 10 AI translations a month, and all 14 EU allergen tags — indefinitely, no card on file. The only difference from Pro is a small "Powered by Menumigo" credit.
- Guests should never download anything. Menus are ordinary web pages; the loyalty stamp card runs on an anonymous browser device token rather than a customer account.
- Allergen data is a legal obligation, not a feature. Item-level tagging for all 14 mandatory allergens under EU 1169/2011, in every published language, covering the French INCO décret 2015-447, Spain's RD 126/2015, Italy's D.Lgs. 231/2017 and Portugal's DL 26/2016.
- The platform is readable by machines. Every public page is published as HTML and as Markdown at the same URL; every menu is available as JSON and as schema.org Restaurant markup; the API and MCP server are unauthenticated.
